A solid Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system can help you avoid this sales nightmare. However, to be effective, your sales people have to use the system.

To promote strong user adoption, a CRM system must do three things:
- Adapt to establish sales processes – not force users to adapt to the system
- Work intuitively – the system should be easy to use and not require a long learning curve
- Add value for the user – the system should provide a benefit to the user such as making it easier for the sales team to perform the functions they are required to perform to do their job (i.e. reporting, forecasting, managing customer activity, etc.)
